Parents and Students
Welcome to Early College Academy (ECA)! As part of Missouri Western’s commitment to student access and success, ECA offers a number of courses and formats to support all student’s needs. The courses you are preparing to take will support your high school graduation as well as prepare you for your journey after high school. As you navigate these courses, the following steps will help support your success during your time in ECA.
Student Checklist
Apply and Select Your Courses
To start your ECA journey, all students must apply each semester they wish to take classes. Student can do this by clicking Apply here. Please note, that you will be prompted to log into Slate to access your ECA application. Once you submit that application, you will have the ability
to select courses on your ECA Slate Portal.
Please do not use Goldlink to apply for ECA courses.
Read Student Handbook
ECA students should review the Student Handbook for information that pertains to them as a dual credit student with Missouri. Information such as student resources, policies and procedures, and general ECA information can be found.
Set Up Goldlink
Goldlink is the official student information portal of Missouri Western. Students can find campus resources, technology assistance, advising and scheduling information, billing and payment options, and various other cards with student information available. Setting up Goldlink is as easy as setting up your MoWest account. Credentials to do so can be found on your ECA Slate Portal.
Check your Gmail and Canvas
ECA students should get in the habit of checking their Canvas and Gmail at least once every day or two. These are your main connections to your professors and other MoWest personnel. If you need to get in contact with someone at MoWest, please use your @missouriwestern.edu
email as opposed to your high school email or a personal email.
Get your Student IDs and Parking Permits
Students enrolled in ECA courses are permitted to attend MoWest events and use resources on campus. To do so, ECA students should get their Griffon ID, which can be obtained from the University Police department (second floor of Blum Union). Similarly, ECA students who are driving to campus will need a parking pass. As part of our dual credit commitment, ECA students are eligible to obtain a parking pass free of charge from the ECA Office.
Review any Other Outstanding Resources
ECA students should continue to review the ECA website, the ECA handbook, and other online resources. If students have questions, please contact our ECA office. Information and communication efforts will be sent to your MoWest email after enrolling in coursework.
