Can doing laundry be fun? Recently Missouri Western decided it was time to upgrade the laundry facilities in the residence halls and after going out to bid selected Caldwell & Gregory Laundry (C&G) to be the new provider.  The school was looking for a company that could deliver the highest quality laundry rooms and equipment for its students and selected C&G because they specialize in working with universities. The company is based in Virginia, serves over 230 schools from VA to Texas and has an outstanding reputation for service.

This winter, C&G will install all new washers and dryers in all of the residence halls, remodel the Juda and Beshears laundry rooms, and will also be providing a state-of-the-art app-based laundry monitoring system called Wash Alert. This system will allow students to use an app on their smartphones to view the laundry rooms, see when machines are available, get notified when their laundry is done, and even pay for the machines using Wash Alert Mobile Pay. This system works just like many other modern mobile pay applications; funds are deposited from a credit or debit card and then the washers and dryers can be paid for with a few clicks of the phone. No more hunting down quarters!

When students return from winter break this year they will have all new washers and dryers, provided by a company with a reputation for excellent student service, and a cool new app that does away with the need for quarters (but quarters will still be a payment option if you have a few laying around)! While this new program may not be able to make laundry fun, it does promise to make this chore a lot less painful.
