Missouri Western was well represented at the 2019 Eastern Communication Association annual conference in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Jordan Atkinson, assistant professor of communication, and his team of undergraduate students – Madison Rounkles, Maria Selby, and Taylor Wallace – presented their research paper about applying Leader-Member Exchange Theory to the college classroom. This paper was awarded the Top Paper in the Theory and Methodology Division. Additionally, Madison Rounkles and Maria Selby presented on a panel about Lambda Pi Eta and other student communication organizations. Dr. David T. McMahan, professor of communication, participated in presentations about communication theory and the state of the communication discipline. While at ECA, Dr. Atkinson completed his term as the Chair of the Instructional Communication Interest Group and as the Program Planner for the Graduate Poster Sessions.
