Events kick off at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, with the band Oferle, a Pop/Country Trio. The performance will be in the Kemper Recital Hall, Spratt Hall room 101. Admission is free and open to the public.

 

Family Day festivities resume Saturday, Sept. 21, with the President’s Pasta Extravaganza from 11 a.m.-noon in the Remington Atrium on campus. Students, staff and the St. Joseph community are invited to join Missouri Western’s President, Matthew Wilson for lunch at a four-station, all-you-can-eat pasta buffet. The event is free, and guests should RSVP online by Sept. 13.

 

Also on Saturday, from noon- 3 p.m. in the Remington Atrium, activities include Clearly You Crystal Laser 3-D Images, Stuff-A-Plush build-your-own plush toy, and planetarium shows. Carnival games will be available outside on the Remington Hall lawn. From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Spidey, an international hypnotist/mentalist/magician, takes the stage in the Kemper Recital Hall, Spratt Hall room 101.

 

All activities are free, but 3-D laser images, stuff-a-plush, photo booth and planetarium shows are on a first-come, first-served basis. Advance planetarium tickets will be available beginning Sept. 2. Students are entitled to free planetarium tickets (limit of 5) if they present their MWSU Student ID in Blum 207.

 

After 3 p.m., students and guests can enjoy the rest of the afternoon tailgating with family and friends before the Missouri Western football game vs. University of Central Missouri at 7 p.m. at Craig Field in Spratt Memorial Stadium. Game tickets may be obtained in advance at gogriffons.com.
