As a liberal arts university, it is the goal of Missouri Western to develop our students into professional, passionate, well-rounded members of their communities. Integral to this goal is arts education. The importance of the arts in education, even if your student is not pursuing an arts degree, cannot be overstated. Unfortunately, the need for funding for arts programs cannot be overstated either.  If you are passionate about supporting the arts at Missouri Western, we would love to have your support as a member of the Missouri Western Arts Society.

The Arts Society supports artistic experiences for our students both in and out of the classroom. This funding supports the opportunity for students to attend performances, exhibits and other off-campus activities; the purchase of specialized equipment that students use to learn technical skills in their artistic fields; programs that allow students to showcase their talents to the community; and visiting guest artists and master classes. Many faculty members rely on these funds each year to support the work that they do in their classrooms and beyond.

As a regional university, many of our students come from schools without robust arts programs. Without these experiences at Missouri Western, many of these same students would be left without an artistic outlet for their passions and without a vital part to a well-rounded education. Your role as an Arts Society member is vital to the continuation of these programs and experiences for our students.
