Dr. Kostis Hassiotis, an international oboist and professor, will be on campus April 19 to perform in a guest artist recital and guest lecture for music education students. The guest lecture will be at 10 a.m. in Potter 108 with the recital and master class at 3 p.m. in Potter 112. Both events are free and open to the public.

 

Hassiotis teaches at the University of Macedonia and the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, both in Thessaloniki, Greece. He combines active artistic presence with research and teaching of music practice. As a soloist, Hassiotis has performed throughout the world playing both oboe and English horn. His repertoire includes masterpieces from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and conventional 20th-century music, as well as contemporary music from the 20th and 21st centuries.
