Missouri Western students may encounter unforeseen financial emergencies or difficult events in their life that can disrupt their educational plans and/or ability to pay for school. In an emergency or crisis situation, MWSU aims to be a lifeline for military-affiliated students in need. This resource is to be used to prevent major interruptions in completing academic requirements by students who have encountered unexpected financial obstacles.
This fund supports MWSU military students who have an urgent need for temporary financial assistance, especially if it might prevent a student from continuing their degree program in the form of monetary support up to $1000.
Applicants must meet all of the eligibility requirements listed below.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Be a military-affiliated student
- Veteran (with a discharge status other than dishonorable), current service member, National Guardsmen, Reservist, military spouse, or dependent child
- Proof of military status (Ie. DD214, NGB 23, Certificate of Eligibility, or Memo from your commander stating you’re a member of your unit in good standing)

- Up to $1000
- Limited number awarded
- May receive Center funds in addition to other MWSU scholarships/emergency funding
