A ceremony to unveil the new University mace and present it to Dr. Robert Vartabedian, Missouri Western’s president, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10 in Spratt Hall Kemper Recital Hall.
Members of the St. Joseph Woodworkers Guild and Dave Takes of Expressions Engraved will present the new mace and stand to Dr. Vartabedian. Guild members made the mace and stand and Takes provided the medallions and etching for it.
A video, “The Making of the Mace,” will follow the unveiling. Refreshments will follow in the Walter Cronkite Memorial.
