New Student Move-In will be

August 11-12 by appointment!

Housing and Residence Life Move-In Information

Move-In can be both a fun and stressful time for everyone. This webpage will be updated with important details to ensure you have as easy a time as possible during move-in.

New Students

  • Move-In begins on August 11, 2020 at 8:00am-4:00pm.
  • Please check-in outside Leah Spratt Hall.
  • Appointment times are required. Sign-Up here!

Check-In Process:

  • Arrive during your appointment window. If you are running late, you do not need to contact anyone. Join the check-in process when you arrive.
  • The check-in process will be drive-through, and will take place in front of Spratt Hall.   Students will then be directed to their residence halls for unloading.
  • At check-in, all residents and guests will need to complete a short health assessment and have their temperature taken.  Any students that have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, chills, muscle aches, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, or new loss of taste or smell, have been in contact with a laboratory confirmed COVID-19 case, or have a positive test themselves will not be permitted to move into the residence halls and will be instructed to return to their permanent residence for self-isolation.
  • Residents must submit a Tuberculosis (TB) Screening Questionnaire AND Meningococcal Immunization record to the Esry Student Health Center before they can receive their key at check in.  See more information here:
  • Students will only be permitted two guests to assist in unloading and move-in.
  • Guests must depart two hours after check in.
  • Carts and dollies will not be available for use. You are strongly encouraged to bring your own.
  • All students and guests will be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.

Once the check-in paperwork is completed and keys are given out, students will be directed to their hall to unload items and move into their room. Guests will have two (2) hours to unload belongings and help their student organize their room. Inside each building, Resident Assistants (RAs) and Griffon Greeters will be around to answer questions and help everyone maintain social distancing. It is strongly recommended students bring their own dollies/carts to help move personal items. Housing & Residence Life will not be providing dollies or move-in carts this year because we cannot guarantee their sanitization.

After move-in, students are encouraged to attend the many events throughout the week and during Griffon Edge. Students also will have an opportunity to meet their RAs and other floor mates during a mandatory floor meeting, conducted over Zoom, on August 12. After Griffon Edge, RAs will host another floor meeting to help answer any final questions residents may have before classes begin on August 17.

The Department of Housing & Residence Life has taken great care to ensure we maintain a safe, positive, healthy, and educational environment. We hope students enjoy living on campus as much as we enjoy providing the opportunities and cannot wait for everyone to return.
