Matt Mandich was named the director of sports performance/head strength and conditioning coach last week.

Mandich was most recently an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Southern Mississippi where he was the primary director for baseball programming and an assistant for the football team. He was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Wofford College from 2015 to 2017. He also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin from 2012 to 2014. He began his career as a strength and conditioning intern at Louisiana State University in 2012.

A four-time All-Sun Belt Conference offensive lineman at Arkansas State University, Mandich received his bachelor’s degree in exercise science at Arkansas State in 2009. Mandich was named the Gary Withrow Award winner as Arkansas State’s most outstanding offensive lineman in 2007 and 2008. He received his master’s in health and human performance from Northwestern State University in 2012. Mandich has certifications from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, United States Weightlifting, Reflexive Performance Reset, National Academy of Sports Medicine and the American Red Cross.

Mandich will replace Greg Carbin, who left Missouri Western for a position with the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this spring.
