ABOUT US

Mission

The Nontraditional & Commuter Student Center serves transfers, commuters, students with families, and individuals outside the traditional age through guidance, academic and social support, and resource referral to enhance educational experiences from the point of entry to degree completion.

Vision

MWSU will enhance our communication, engagement, and program offerings to ensure we are serving a diverse group of contemporary students. The Nontraditional & Commuter Student Center, conveniently located in Blum 234, serves as the central hub for the commuter, part-time, non-traditional in age, and parenting students.

We serve many students over the age of 25 and do not live on campus, but our services are not restricted by age. Our mission is to connect students with campus and community resources to support them in their academic journey toward graduation.

The Center currently serves as a landing space for busy adult learners to relax, check their email and grab a bite to eat between classes and as the meeting space for the New Wave Student Association, a registered student organization created to advocate for the support of nontraditional and commuter students at MWSU.
