Commuter & Contemporary Student Center Programs

Coffee, Donuts, and Conversation-biweekly

Join us every other Tuesday morning in the CCSC for coffee and donuts and to engage with other students, meet our team, and learn more about exciting programs and resources offered by the CCSC.

Non-trad Student Appreciation Week- annually

The first week in November is Non-traditional Student Week, as identified by ANTSHE. The CCSC will host a fun-filled week of activities for students and their families, including free food, and campus and community resources to show our support and appreciation for commuter and contemporary students at MWSU.

CCSC Luncheon- Fall and Spring semester

Join us once each fall and spring semester for a free grab and go lunch provided for commuter and contemporary students.

Contemporary Student Networks

Contemporary Student Networks provide scheduled gathering opportunities for commuter and/or non-traditional students in the Commuter & Non-Traditional Student Center (Blum Union Room #). These regularly scheduled, unstructured meetups provide opportunities for commuter and/or non-traditional students with various identities to connect with others with similar experiences.

The Students with Children Network, which gathers weekly on (date) at (time), is a space to connect with other Missouri Western State University students who are parenting and/or are pregnant.

The Returning Student Network, which gathers weekly on (date) at (time), is a space to connect with other Missouri Western State University students who took three or more years off from college.

The Off-Campus Network, which gathers weekly on (date) at (time), is a space to connect with other Missouri Western State University students who are 25 and over and live off-campus (either in St. Joseph or elsewhere).

The Former Foster Care Network, which gathers weekly on (date) at (time), is a space to connect with other Missouri Western State University students who were previously in the foster care system.

While the Commuter & Non-Traditional Student Center is open weekdays from 8 a.m-4:30 p.m., we hope that you will consider visiting the Center to connect with one of the Contemporary Student Networks and/or suggest a new network!
