This course introduces students to the vocabulary and processes of critical thinking and their application to reading and writing, academic and personal skills critical for success in college and the practical application of those skills within a seminar setting. Students develop study skills, learn about campus resources and policies, and explore career options.

- To develop the students’ knowledge of University life
- To improve writing and study skills needed for success at the University and career level
- To enhance the students’ abilities to read and think critically
- To develop the ability to communicate ideas in professional oral and written presentations

The add/drop period is the first 5 days of the semester. During that time you can add and/or drop classes without a “W” on your transcript.
You must be enrolled in 12 credit hours to be a full time student. Yes, this class does count toward those hours.
Yes, there is a required textbook for this class, which is free.
A student can audit this class only for informational instruction, but will not earn credit.
It will count as an elective.
Honors students take HON195 which is similar to UNV101.
