Missouri Western State University and Cleveland University – Kansas City
Introduction
The purpose of this partnership is to facilitate the admissions process for graduates of Missouri Western State University (MWSU) into the Doctor of Chiropractic Program (DCP) at Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC). Cleveland University-Kansas City will reserve up to 2 seats in the program per academic year for the most qualified MWSU students who meet or exceed the admissions requirements for the DCP. Additional MWSU students are welcome to apply and may still have an opportunity to enter the DCP.
Agreement
A student who completes a baccalaureate degree at MWSU and meets the requirements for admission into CUKC’s DCP will have an opportunity to hold one of the reserved seats. Students must meet the current admission requirements to be eligible for admissions under this MOU. CUKC’s admissions department is willing to provide transcript evaluations for students who are unsure if they meet these criteria.
Admissions Requirements
The prerequisites for consideration of acceptance into the Doctor of Chiropractic program are in compliance with the standards, policies and guidelines of the Council on Chiropractic Education.
Admission Path 1 to the Doctor of Chiropractic Program (DCP) requires students to have completed a bachelor’s degree with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Preferred sciences include:
- Biology
- Biomechanics
- Kinesiology
- Anatomy
- Physiology
- Exercise Physiology
A full year of Chemistry (organic and inorganic) is also recommended. Preference will be given to candidates for the DCP who have completed the recommended coursework listed above.
Candidate’s prerequisite courses must be from an accredited college or university and these courses are required to be transferrable, college-level courses. Remedial course and courses numbered below 100-level are not acceptable prerequisite courses.
