The MWSU Symphonic Winds proudly presents Momentum — the energy that propels both music and community forward. Each work on the program captures movement in a different form: the sparkling clarity of Crystal (Dobson), the heroic determination of Beethoven’s Egmont, and the bright propulsion of Just Flyin’ (Giroux) and Rev (Standridge) all remind us of the vitality that fuels progress. Balancing these moments of drive are the reflective beauty of Yorkshire Ballad (Barnes) and the artistic grandeur of Scenes from the Louvre (Dello Joio), while Mephistopheles (Williams) explores the dramatic forces that challenge our forward motion. Together, these works mirror the spirit of our university; dynamic, evolving, and always moving toward what’s next.
