The Missouri Western State University Board of Governors establishes policies, by-laws, rules and regulations for its own government and for control and government of the University; to select, appoint, and remove a President of the University; to set admission standards; and to make decisions on financial matters. The student governor is a non-voting member of the Board and can serve a term up to two years in length.

The successful applicant is appointed by the Governor of the State of Missouri and subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate.


Term: January 2022 through December 2024

The application (below), a resume, and essay must be submitted no later than 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 6th. Your application and supporting documents will become part of your application packet and will be used to determine who receives an interview. Interviews will be conducted in early March.

The Student Governor may write reports to the President and to the Board of Governors to inform them of events or issues of interest in the lives of students.

Describe a topic you feel would important for the President to know. The item should be a current issue, possibly from this Fall semester. Keep in mind that the Board of Governors and the President read many items, so being clear and concise is very important.
