When do I take the EPP?
You are eligible if you have 90 or more credit hours. The exam must be completed prior to graduation in order to receive your degree. You may be waived from taking the exam if you have taken most of your general studies credits at other institutions. Your transcript transfer hours will be evaluated to determine whether or not a waiver is possible.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are graduating in the summer, you need to sign up for a spring exam session. No exit exams are scheduled during the summer session.
How will I be notified to take the EPP and how do I register?
Check your Missouri Western email! Be sure to check your spam and promotions folders, as sometimes the emails go there. Notification and information will be sent via email the first week of Spring and Fall semesters. A link to register for the exam is in the email. In the event that you don’t receive an email, there is an additional link to the registration located in your Griffon GPS. You may also link to the registration page HERE. Why take the EPP?
The Educational Proficiency Profile (EPP) is an online exam that assesses student learning in the areas of critical thinking, reading, writing and mathematics. It is designed for colleges and universities to assess general education outcomes and inform teaching and learning. Your scores will be compared to scores of other graduates across the nation. The success of Missouri Western students on the EPP influences the perceptions others have regarding the quality of MWSU programs and the value of your degree.
