A delegation of four administrators from Jiaxing University in China visited campus last spring to discuss ways to strengthen and expand the exchange partnership between the two universities.
They toured campus and met administrators, faculty and staff. The delegation discussed the partnership with Dr. Jeanne Daffron ’74, provost and vice president of Academic Affairs.
The group also gave a presentation about Jiaxing University and answered questions from the audience. About 30 people attended the presentation.
Dr. Mei Zhang, assistant dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, visited Jiaxing University in June 2013. As a result of her visit, Missouri Western and Jiaxing University signed a Memorandum of Understanding in November 2013.
The first two students from Jiaxing University – Bingxin Song and Siyu Guo – came to study at Missouri Western in August 2014. The junior mathematics majors both made the President’s Honor List in the fall and spring semesters of the 2014-15 academic year with 4.0 GPAs.
