Quick Bio
I came to MoWest in 2016 with a strong interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate research in microbiology and virology. I have taught a range of courses, including Virology, Medical and Public Health Microbiology, Molecular Cell Biology, Pathogenic Microbiology, and Principles of Biology. My research group focuses on two main topics: 1) the molecular biology of influenza A virus, and 2) identification of viruses in campus ponds. In addition to those traditional research projects, I integrate research projects into the laboratory sections of the courses that I teach whenever possible. Students interested in undergraduate research are encouraged to contact me for more information.
