 The Music Program of Missouri Western will host their Annual MWSU Percussion Ensemble Festival Friday, April 12, featuring clinicians Dr. Matt Halligan, and Dr. Brad Meyer. During the day, five high school percussion ensembles and the Missouri Western Percussion Ensemble will be performing in the Fulkerson Center. Each ensemble performs for the adjudicators, receiving written critiques of the performance from the clinicians. Matt Halligan, MWSU Percussion Instructor, states the primary focus of this festival is making this an educational and musical experience for students and directors alike. Clinicians for this year are; Dr. Matt Halligan, Missouri Western State University, and Dr. Brad Meyer, Stephen F. Austin University.
Dr. Brad Meyer will present a clinic at 2:30 PM in the Fulkerson Center which will be open to the public.
Central High School, Park Hill High School, Riverside High School, Smithville High School, and Truman High School will be performing at the festival.
The festival will start at 10:00 AM, with the MWSU Percussion Ensemble performance, followed by high school percussion ensembles performances and critiques in the Fulkerson Center. The public is invited to attend this full day of Percussion. There is no admission charge for the day.
