Mission
The mission of the Center for Multicultural Education is to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth in the areas of multicultural exploration, sensitivity, empathy and competency for students, faculty and staff  of Missouri Western State University.  We will work diligently to provide leadership and support in the area of diversity and building cross-cultural connections within the campus and St. Joseph community through workshops, programs, training and dialogue.

Vision
The Center for Multicultural Education envisions a campus that is dynamic, challenging and welcoming to its diverse constituents.  Toward this end, The Center for Multicultural Education will enhance the student, faculty and staff’s understanding and appreciation of peoples, traditions and cultures, while promoting academic inquiry and self-reflection. The Center for Multicultural Education is committed to developing leaders that are culturally competent and poised to create environments and communities that encourages, respects and celebrates diversity.
