The Missouri Western State University Department of Nursing and Allied Health is committed to the development of students as individuals and leaders striving for excellence in inter-professional practice and the promotion of healthy communities.

Nursing and Allied Health offers degree programs in Nursing, Physical Therapist Assistant and Health Information Management. As an integral part of Missouri Western State University, the Department of Nursing and Allied Health supports the mission, goals and policies of the University and the Division of Professional Studies.

All programs are committed to the development of healthcare professionals with visionary leadership, demonstrating excellence in critical thinking, communication and technical skills.  Nursing students enter a program that is grounded in standards-based practice and holistic care, with focused intensive classroom and clinical experiences in a variety of nursing areas such as obstetrics, acute care, community health, and hospice.  Both, Nursing and Physical Therapist Assistant, utilize state-of-the-art simulation labs and classrooms which provide the backdrop for personalized instruction from experienced faculty. This combination enhances the success for our graduates.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Missouri Western State University is fully approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.

Request for Third Party Comments
The Department of Nursing at Missouri Western State University is seeking comments from the public regarding the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program in preparation for a five-year visit by the Missouri State Board of Nursing (MSBN). The visit is scheduled on Thursday, October 15th.  The purpose of the visit is renewal of the program’s state approval.

Written and signed third-party comments will be accepted by the Missouri State Board of Nursing (MSBN) until 30 days (September 15, 2015) before the visit to MWSU’s Department of Nursing. Third-party comments are shared with the evaluation team, but not with the program.
