Join us for the opening of Rediscovered Treasures, an art exhibit featuring work by former MoWest students and faculty members. The opening reception is  Thursday, September 10, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and open to the public.

You can view this collection in the Drew Brown Art Gallery from September 8 to October 15.

September 11, 2026
On the 25th Anniversary of 9/11, the Center for Military and Veteran Services will be hosting a Memorial Stair Climb inside Spratt Stadium. Participants will climb 110 flights of stairs and honor the victims, first responders, and heroes of 9/11.

This event begins at 8 a.m. and is open to the public. Join us in reflecting and remembering the events of September 11, 2001.

We are beyond excited to welcome Dr. Lenny Klaver to MoWest as our seventh president. Klaver joins us from North Central Missouri College, where he served as president since May 2016. Read the full announcement here.

Our newest Griffons attended a week-long event called Griffon Edge, which introduced them to campus and to each other via fun games and community-centered activities.

One of those events was being a part of the official Class of 2030 photo, where 545 of our first-year students were invited to be a part of the final shot on the field at Spratt Stadium.

Mark your calendar, the MoWest General Scholarship Application opens on October 1st. This one scholarship application goes to over 250 different scholarships at Missouri Western State University. The application allows your Griffon to be considered for one of the many generous scholarships at MoWest.

The application will open October 1, 2026 and will close April 1, 2027. Submit your application early and be one step ahead of starting at MoWest.

We’ve launched a brand new YouTube channel dedicated to sharing sharply produced content. Check out new long-form videos in our “Once a Griffon” and “Griffon Voices” series or use it to discover on-campus resources like the Accessibility Resource Center or the Financial Aid team.
