Mission
The Office of Assessment & Accreditation supports the faculty-driven MoWest processes for confirming and strengthening student learning achievement of documented program outcomes.
Vision
The Office of Assessment & Accreditation’s vision is to cultivate a university-wide culture of evidence and continuous improvement-focused in which faculty use meaningful assessment to strengthen student learning and educational quality.

Values
Service—We provide guidance and support that strengthen assessment, accreditation, and student success.
Collaboration—We partner with faculty and campus stakeholders to advance student learning through meaningful assessment.
Learning—We encourage reflection, inquiry, and growth in assessment and educational effectiveness.
Evidence—We use reliable evidence to inform decisions and improve educational quality.
Integrity—We use transparent, ethical, and professional assessment practices.
Improvement—We promote continuous improvement through assessment-informed action.
Educational programs continuously collect student artifacts for assessing their three internally reported Program Student Learning Outcomes (PSLOs). Assessment findings inform the development of an Improvement Plan, which is submitted with the Assessment Report to the University Assessment Committee (UAC). The UAC reviews reports and plans and provides comments using the UAC Assessment Rubric. UAC compiles a University Assessment Report which is used to inform Strategic Initiatives.
Assessment rests on the values of service, collaboration, learning, evidence, integrity and improvement. The process involves developing an assessment plan, reviewing and revising the plan, collecting and analyzing data, reporting findings, developing an improvement plan, receiving feedback from the University Assessment Committee (UAC) and implementing improvements. The UAC will develop a report, and the data collected will inform strategic initiatives.
