Welcome to the Department of Psychology!
The study of psychology provides a better understanding of human nature and of the behavior of oneself and others as individuals and as members of groups. The Department of Psychology offers either a Bachelor of Arts degree or a Bachelor of Science degree. We are also offering an emphasis in Human Factors and Usability Testing as part of the Master of Applied Science degree.

The goal of the Missouri Western psychology program is to provide students with a foundation in the basic core methodologies and body of knowledge that constitute the science and to introduce the many applications of psychology. You will not learn to be a counselor, a researcher, a psychological test expert, or a specialist in any one area of psychology. You will, however, receive a broad education in psychology and the liberal arts that will prepare you for a lifetime of autonomous, continuous learning. You will be well prepared for on-the-job training or advanced study in psychology.
