Continuity Planning Support
- Continuity planning supports the University’s ability to maintain or restore essential operations following disruptions such as severe weather, utility failures, cyber incidents, facility damage, staffing shortages, or other emergencies.
MoWest encourages departments to identify essential functions and prepare continuity considerations in advance to minimize operational disruption and support rapid recovery.
Continuity planning may include:
- Identification of critical services and essential functions
- Cross-training and staffing contingency planning
- Planning for temporary relocation or alternate work arrangements
- Technology and data continuity considerations
- Communication plans for internal and external stakeholders
- Resource and supply continuity planning
Continuity planning is not limited to large-scale disasters. It can also support response to smaller disruptions such as building closures, equipment failures, or temporary staffing shortages.
