What is a Writing Marathon?

Writing Marathons have been practiced in the National Writing Project since the first on was developed by the Southeastern Louisiana Writing Project Direction, Richard Louth, in New Orleans in 1993. They continue to be employed in writing groups, at literary festivals, in NWP sites and in classrooms all across the country.

At the Prairie Lands Writing Project, we host open writing marathons each year. Check this page for updates about these events.
