About 200 high school students from across the region will be at Missouri Western State University on Thursday, March 1 for the annual High School Writing Day, hosted by Missouri Western’s Prairie Lands Writing Project and Department of English and Modern Languages.

The students and their teachers from 15 area high schools will be at Missouri Western for a day celebrating writing. Students will attend breakout sessions facilitated by Missouri Western faculty and PLWP teacher consultants. Session topics include poetry, flash fiction, sports writing, technical writing and more. At the end of the day, an Open Mic Reading will give students a chance to share what they’ve written.

The Missouri Western State University Foundation provides support for High School Writing Day.
