The Department of Music and the School of Fine Arts at Missouri Western State University present the annual Fall Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the Fulkerson Center on the Missouri Western campus. Tickets are $5 for general admission, $3 for seniors and those with a Missouri Western ID, and free for children 12 and under.

The concert promises to take the listener through a wide spectrum of emotions as the Renaissance Singers begin with music from the 15th and 16th centuries. The Renaissance Singers were recently featured in Lights and Tights: A Spanish Renaissance Feast, an event that boasted record attendance in its fifth year.

The Missouri Western Concert Chorale will follow with an exciting program that will feature the music of G. F. Handel, Ralph Vaughn Williams, traditional folk songs such as “Londonderry Air” and much more. The evening will conclude with the popular song “Impossible Dream” from “The Man of La Mancha,” a piece that dazzled the audience as a surprise ending to the Renaissance Feast.

The choirs were also recently featured in Noontime Concert Series in downtown St. Joseph. One attendee said, “The students were just amazing and so enthusiastic … their energy was contagious!”
