A former U.S. Ambassador to Portugal will present a lecture titled “The Disintegration of Civil Discourse in American Politics” at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 in Missouri Western State University’s Blum Student Union Hoff Conference Rooms, 218-219. The talk is the second of the 2013-2014 Peace and Conflict Studies Speaker Series, sponsored by the Peace and Conflict Studies minor and the Missouri Western State University Foundation. It is free and open to the public.

Allan J. Katz is the guest speaker. Katz was ambassador to Portugal from 2009 to 2013. A former city commissioner in Tallahassee, Fla., he has vast experience in politics and public debate. He is currently on the faculty at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
