André Nerman

Poems from one of the most popular French poets and screenwriters of the 20th century will be the focus of a two-actor dramatized reading at Missouri Western State University. “Rappelle-toi Prévert,” the performance in French conceived and produced by André Nerman, pays homage to the life and works of Jacques Prévert. The reading performed by Nerman and Nelly-Anne Rabas will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 in the Kemper Recital Hall inside Leah Spratt Hall on the Missouri Western campus. The reading is free and open to the public.

Many of Prévert’s poems were set to music and recorded by acclaimed artists like Yves Montand, Edith Piaf, Joan Baez and Nat King Cole, including “Les feuilles mortes” (Autumn Leaves). Among his films is “Les Enfants du Paradis” (Children of Paradise), on many lists of the greatest films of all time.
