Peer Advisors and Mentors

 

Peer Mentor 

Samantha Gonzalez is currently a junior here at MWSU. She is studying business marketing while aspiring to be a pharmaceutical sales representative. Samantha enjoys being involved on campus as she is a peer mentor and an executive board chair holder for the amazing sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha.

Peer Advisor

Caroline Cramsey currently a senior here at Missouri Western State University. She is majoring in elementary education and came here as a transfer student last year as a junior. Caroline is involved with the Newman center here on campus, and is the president this year for Alpha Omega Christian sorority. A couple of fun facts about Caroline is that she is left handed and loves to sing wherever she goes.

Mycah Williams is a sophomore and her major is Theatre and Cinema with a concentration in Theatre and also a minor in Entrepreneurship. She is involved with Black Student Union as the Vice President and Alpha Psi Omega Honors Theatre Fraternity along with being a Peer Mentor/Adviser for the Student Success office. Mycah is from Kansas City, Mo and her favorite pass time is listening to music and watching tv.

Brooke Gragg is a junior at MWSU.  Her intended major is Elementary Education. Prior to going into High School, Brooke worked with a team of NASA scientists in Texas making filters that make unclean liquids clean enough to drink. Her friendly demeanor makes her easy to talk to, and she loves to go to the daycare on campus to read to the children.

Josh Caldwell is a senior at MWSU.  He is majoring in Physical Education with a concentration in Health & Exercise Science.  Josh is also a member of the MWSU football team.

Nick Morse is currently a sophomore at Missouri Western State University. Nick is majoring in criminal justice with law enforcement concentration. He is a nontraditional student who “finally figured out where I wanted to go in life with a degree”. Nick is looking to travel a lot and visit as many historical sites as possible to gain a new respect and expand his knowledge to a new level on history. One of his all time favorite quotes comes from Albert Einstein, “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.”

Mariela Diaz is a senior at Missouri Western State University. She is majoring in Biology with a Health Science Concentration. Once she graduates she hopes to attend to medical school so one day she can become an infectious disease doctor.  Mariela is excited to help the new MWSU students to learn about the great opportunities available for them on campus. Mariela has a dog and a cat and loves spending her free time playing with them, reading and binge watching Netflix.

Bobbi Stalker is a junior at MWSU. She is a business management and entrepreneurship major who has dreams that one day she will open her own business.  She is a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, the co-ed professional business fraternity here on campus.  Bobbi loves to read and play video games, and pretty much anything that allows her to curl up with a soft blanket and relax. She is also the proud mother of one very rambunctious fur baby (her “doggo”).  Bobbi is motivated by the idea of personal growth.  When she first started here at Missouri Western, she was to afraid to even introduce herself to people or ask a question in class.  All of her experiences up to this point since she started her college career has helped her grow into the more confident person that she is now.  “But don’t get me wrong, I still have a long way to go.”

Alli Collins is a junior at Missouri Western State University and her major is Elementary Education. She is very passionate about school and work, and her ultimate goal in life is to obtain a career in the education field. She is from Kansas City, Missouri, and she loves BBQ. She is also very crafty and creative, as she loves painting, coloring, and decorating. One of her favorite quotes is “Life isn’t about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself.” -Unknown

 

 

Peer Mentor

Abbi Brown is a sophomore at MWSU.  She has not yet determined what her major will be.  Abbi enjoys photography and art.  She is a member of the MWSU Concert Chorale and the Baptist Student Union.

Lead Peer Mentor

Geri Vermillion is a non-traditional sophomore at MWSU. Her major is Population Health  Management with a concentration in General Business. Geri is a mother of three boys; a first grader and a set of “threenage” twin boys. She enjoys very much watching them grow and develop their own personalities. Geri loves working as a Peer Mentor. She is excited to work with new students to help them become comfortable with the college experience and successfully build a foundation that will take them across the stage at the end of this journey.

Abby Sexton is a senior Theatre & Cinema – Musical Theatre major with a minor in dance and in her third year as a peer mentor/advisor. She is very active within Missouri Western’s theatre department, having performed in several main stage productions, black box shows, and film projects since her freshman year. Outside of her major, Abby has been involved with Alpha Psi Omega honors theatre fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota honors women’s music fraternity, the Renaissance/Chamber Choirs, and the Mystics dance team.

Rachel Rhinehart is currently a senior at MWSU. She is studying Elementary Education, with a certification in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Once she graduates, she hopes to land a job in the one of the northern areas of Kansas City. Rachel enjoys reading and spending time with her family and pets!

Kayla Saltsgaver is a senior at MWSU. She  is going for a major in social work with a criminal justice minor.
