Missouri Western students graduate

St. Joseph, Mo. —Dec. 11, 2019—The Winter Commencement ceremony for Missouri Western State University will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 in the arena of the M.O. Looney Complex. The commencement speaker will be Dr. Jonathan Rhoad, professor of chemistry. Missouri Western expects approximately 300 students to earn their degrees this semester.

The ceremony is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis with doors opening at 9:45 a.m. For those unable to attend, the ceremony will be streamed live online at griff.vn/win19grad and on Missouri Western’s Facebook page.

International & Multicultural Student Farewell & Sash Ceremony, 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, Blum Student Union rooms 222-223

The Global Center and the Center for Multicultural Education will celebrate their graduating students. Graduating international students will receive a sash from their country of citizenship as a gift from Missouri Western.

Graduate Hooding Ceremony, 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, Fulkerson Center

Students who have earned their master’s degrees will receive their academic hoods in a special ceremony. The hooding ceremony will be streamed online at griff.vn/win19hood.

Nursing Pinning Ceremony, 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, Fulkerson Center

Nursing graduates will receive pins symbolic of their chosen profession.
