Joanne Katz, retired professor of legal studies

A recently retired Missouri Western State University professor will talk about her experiences as a Fulbright scholar in Vietnam at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 29 in Spratt Hall, room 205. The talk, “From Enemy to Friend: An American View of Vietnam Today,” is free and open to the public.

Joanne Katz, who was a professor of legal studies, recently completed a semester as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Foreign Trade University Faculty of Law in Hanoi. Her experience in Hanoi and throughout the country showed a very different Vietnam from the evening news film clips of her youth. Her lecture will include some of the history of the country and her experiences and observations in present-day Vietnam.
