The Spanish Club at Missouri Western State University welcomes Elvira Loyola de Bausset, a published Argentinian poet, for a Spanish Poetry Night at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the Hearnes Center, room 102. The poet will present a copy of her recently published book of poems to Dr. Robert Vartabedian, Missouri Western’s president. The event is free and open to the public.

De Bausset was born in Martinez, Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1923, and now lives in Provo, Utah. She is the mother of Dr. Ana Bausset-Page, assistant professor of Spanish. In addition to her poetry, de Bausset has done paintings, watercolors and hand-knitted blankets. She used to own and run a beauty salon in her home in Castelar, Argentina.
