President Vartabedian speaks at Commencement

The Spring Commencement ceremonies for approximately 500 graduates of Missouri Western State University will be held at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, May 11 in the arena of the M.O. Looney Complex. The MWSU Alumni Association will host a free reception for graduates and their families after the ceremony in the Looney small gym.

Other commencement-related activities include an ROTC commissioning ceremony at 3 p.m. Friday, May 10 in Kemper Recital Hall, Spratt Hall 101, and pinning ceremonies at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in the Fulkerson Center for nursing graduates and in Kemper Recital Hall for physical therapist assistant graduates.

Nicole Kerr, an engineering technology graduate from Brisbane, Australia, will deliver the commencement address at the 11 a.m. ceremony. Graduates of the following programs will participate in the morning ceremony:

  • Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Social Work
  • Engineering Technology
  • Nursing/Physical Therapy Assistants
  • Psychology
  • Masters in Nursing/Health Care Leadership
  • Masters of Applied Science – Engineering Technology, Human Factors

Quincy Hawkins, a physical education graduate from Kansas City, Mo., will deliver the commencement address at the 3 p.m. ceremony. Graduates of the following programs will participate in the afternoon ceremony:
