One hundred high school students from around Missouri have been invited to Missouri Western State University on Nov. 13 for the Missouri Entrepreneurship Challenge, sponsored by Missouri Western and the Missouri Council on Economic Education.

The contest involved teams of five students designing a sports- or entertainment-themed business. Nearly 1,000 students competed in the online round, and volunteer judges reviewed and scored the business plans.

“The judges were extremely impressed with the creative ideas, but perhaps more importantly, the thoughtful planning demonstrated by these students,” said Mike English, president and CEO of the Missouri Council on Economic Education.

On Nov. 13, the finalists will compete to win cash prizes and scholarships to Missouri Western’s Craig School of Business.
