Missouri Western State University invites the community to its celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional Chinese holiday, at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 in Murphy Hall, room 224. It is free and open to the public.

The festival celebration will include poetry, folk art, singing, the releasing of sky lanterns and traditional festival tea and foods.

The Mid-Autumn Festival has been celebrated in China for thousands of years. The harvest celebration traditionally is a time for Chinese people to return to their home and reunite with their families.
