The opera workshop in the department of music at Missouri Western State University will present an afternoon of opera and musical theatre scenes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 4 in the Kemper Recital Hall, inside Leah Spratt Hall. Admission is free.

Featured singers include recent finalists in the Classical Singer, National Opera Association and National Association of Teachers of Singing competition, as well as lead performers in the upcoming musical theatre production “Little Shop of Horrors.” Scenes from La Traviata, Carmen, Hansel and Gretel, Secret Garden and Guys and Dolls are included.

Ara Ju is the pianist and Jennifer White is the interim director.
