Residents,

You have not yet checked out of the Residence Halls. Please read this in its entirety for complete checkout instructions.

All residents must vacate the halls by April 1. The City of Saint Joseph has issued a Stay At Home order effective at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, and continuing until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2020. From the order, Missouri Western is deemed an essential business and will remain open. “11. Education (including childcare) and governmental operations.”

This order does not prevent Missouri Western State University students from moving out of residence halls as they work through the process with Residential Life. We strongly encourage students to gather their belongings so they may shelter in place at their home residence.

Your assistance in removing your belongings helps us in accommodating students who do not have the ability to go home.

  1. Sign-up for a checkout time using this website.
  2. Come to the Commons Building at the beginning of your check-out time to get your Express Check-Out form and envelope.
  3. Remove all of your belongings from your room, clean your room and bathroom, and follow all the steps on the express check-out form.
  4. Place your form and keys in the provided envelope.
  5. Return envelope to the Commons.
    • The Commons will be open the following hours this week:
      • Monday-Friday – 8:00am-6:00pm
      • Saturday – Sunday – 10:00am-4:00pm
    • If you finish removing your belongings after the Commons is closed, please place your envelope on the desk in your room, close and lock your door, and email reslife@missouriwestern.edu letting us know you have checked out. We will have a staff member collect your keys.

If your situation prevents you from retrieving your belongings by April 1, please email reslife@missouriwestern.edu. A staff member will contact you for more information.

Finally, if your situation does not allow you to go to off-campus housing please complete the Request to Remain on Campus form. Again, a staff member will be in touch.

Thank you for your continued flexibility throughout all of this.
