griffon esports arenaJune 14, 2021–After a successful first year of varsity competition, the Griffon Esports program at Missouri Western State University will hold its first youth camp for middle and high school students July 5-9. Pre-registration is required. Parents or guardians can register their children at missouriwestern.edu/esports

“Our goal with the Griffon Esports Youth Camp is to take something many young people are already passionate about, gaming, and use that to build up other important life skills,” said Christian Konczal, director of esports and head coach. “Competitive online gaming is a great way to develop teamwork, communication, physical health and digital citizenship skills.”

Campers will receive hands-on training from Griffon Esports varsity athletes and coaches in the state-of-the-art Griffon Esports Arena inside the Blum Student Union. Parents and friends will be invited to watch the campers play a live match at the end of camp.

The camp is open to youth ages 12 to 17. It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Registration cost is $100 per child.
