April 22, 2019—The Spring Fling Concert presented by the Choral Studies program in the Department of Music at Missouri Western State University will include the world premiere of a new composition by David Bennett Thomas. The concert is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25 at First Presbyterian Church, 301 N. 7th Street in Downtown St. Joseph. The concert is free and open to the public.
The concert will include both the Concert Chorale and the Chamber Singers. The Chamber Singers will premiere “Above the Sky,” a three-movement sacred work by Thomas, who will be present. Thomas is on the faculty at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. His works have been performed throughout America as well as in Europe, Israel, South America and China.
