Missouri Western State University’s Title IX Office together with the Gender and Power Studies Program present a benefit production of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” at 7 p.m. Feb. 14 and 15.

The Feb. 14 performance will be in the Kemper Recital Hall, inside Spratt Hall on Missouri Western’s campus. The Feb. 15 performance will be at the YWCA Auditorium, 304 N. 8th Street in downtown St. Joseph.

Free will offerings will benefit the St. Joseph YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter.

“The Vagina Monologues” is an Obie Award-winning play that introduces the audience to a wildly divergent gathering of female voices. The New York Times called it “probably the most important piece of political theater of the last decade.” The play is produced around the world in February as part of V-Day, a movement to raise money for groups fighting violence against women.
