Marty Skomal portrays French chef Georges Auguste Escoffier at 7 p.m. April 4 in the Kemper Recital Hall.

Missouri Western State University and the Alliance Française de Saint Joseph present “Escoffier: Master of the Kitchen,” a one-man show about one of the first celebrity chefs, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 4 in the Kemper Recital Hall inside Spratt Hall on the Missouri Western campus. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Georges Auguste Escoffier was a French chef and culinary writer of the early 20th century whose writing and techniques remain influential today. Live on stage, Marty Skomal’s performance delves into the gossip and backstory of the restaurants, recipes and private lives of the famous people in the time of Escoffier’s France and Europe.

The show lasts 45 minutes, and is in English. Treats will be provided before and after the performance. Additional funding is provided by the Missouri Western State University Foundation.
