The Missouri Western State University Arts Society is hosting its first “Meet the Prof” event at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25, in the ceramics lab in Potter Hall. The opportunity to meet and learn from David Harris, associate professor of art and ceramics instructor, is free and open to the public, but seating is limited and reservations are required by Friday, March 17. Call 816-271-5920 or email rgraves@missouriwestern.edu.

As a working artist and art educator, David Harris encourages students to “explore their unique talents, develop their creativity, and fine-tune their distinctive voice.” He founded David Harris Pottery in 1978. Working as a full-time studio artist, he produced a wide range of both functional and nonfunctional ceramic forms. His work has been exhibited in numerous national and international venues and is included in many public and private collections.

During the two-hour session, Harris will share his love of ceramics, his expertise, and more. Come ready with questions and to get your hands dirty.
