The Missouri Western State University Ambassadors recently awarded more than $16,000 in scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year.
Receiving the First Ladies Legacy Scholarship is Kimberly Chilton, senior nursing major from Stewartsville, Missouri. The First Ladies Legacy Scholarship was created by Drs. Robert and Laurel Vartabedian in memory of Dorsey Looney, whose husband Dr. M.O. Looney was Missouri Western’s president from 1967 to 1983, and Lauren Scanlon, whose husband Dr. James Scanlon was president from 2001 to 2008.
