Students in 3D design classes at Missouri Western State University have created primitive structures in a wooded area of campus that can be toured from 8 a.m. to noon Friday, April 29.

Students researched primitive dwellings and survival manuals, then gathered downed trees and limbs and built eight structures that could be used for shelter in the wild. The open house will give visitors a chance to climb inside and check out the structures. Drinks and snacks will be served.

The structures are located in the woods across from the Department of Conservation offices on James McCarthy Drive. The entrance is located between disc golf holes number 11 and 14. Signs will be posted outside Agenstein Hall directing visitors to the site.
