The Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society at Missouri Western State University will sponsor a Science and Society symposium on genetically modified organisms (GMO) at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 27 in the East Hills Library Theater Room, 502 N. Woodbine Avenue. The event is free and open to the public.

“Manipulated: The Science and Politics of Genetically Modified Organisms” will feature presentation from Missouri Western faculty and questions-and-answers with the audience. Presenters include Dr. Taylor Quedensley, assistant professor of biology; Dr. Hillary Mellema, instructor of marketing; and Dr. James Okapal, associate professor of philosophy and chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religion.
