The Office of International Recruitment and Student Services at Missouri Western State University will host two upcoming events to raise awareness about issues faced by students from different cultures. A session on intercultural romantic relationships will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 in the Hoff Conference Rooms, Blum 218-219. A session called “A Day with an Accent,” regarding misconceptions and stereotypes based on how people talk, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 in Spratt Hall, room 203. Both sessions are free and open to the public.

The session on relationships will take a look at the unique and unexpected challenges that may arise when two people from different cultures are brought together by love.

“A Day with an Accent” will feature speakers for whom English is a second language. They will share their experiences and challenges.
