ashley Dr. David Ashley, professor of biology at Missouri Western State University, will give a presentation titled “Batty About Bats” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29 in the Hearnes Center, room 102. The presentation is free and open to the public.

“Batty About Bats” was developed for a public audience with a broad background and interests and is traditionally presented near the time of Halloween to give some positive press to bats at a time when myths about them abound.

Batty about bats  20151029Dr. Ashley will discuss the natural history of bats globally and within Missouri. He will discuss bat biodiversity and the ecological role of bats. The presentation will also highlight factors detrimental to bats and the way that bats benefit natural ecosystems.
